State Department needs fresh ideas to replace stale liberalism

State Department trims its upper ranks as Rex Tillerson retools personnel

The secretary of state is still lacking much of his senior staff while the department is undergoing further shrinkage in its upper echelons, according to current and former U.S. officials.
During the Obama years, the State Department was a sewer of bad ideas with a prescription that led to losing around the world.  It is still infested with people who appear unwilling to work with the new administration on the needed changes.  Tillerson is right to drain this swamp.
