Gingrich challenges polling figures for Trump
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich torched the coordinated media campaign to mislead Americans about President Donald Trump’s popularity, calling out pollsters and reporters for “willful” deception aimed at derailing the 47th president’s momentum as he enters a critical phase of his second term.
Appearing on Hannity, Gingrich praised Trump’s recent commencement address at the University of Alabama and contrasted it with what he described as Kamala Harris’ “goofy” and “chaotic” speech. “Look, this may have been the most cruel thing I’ve ever seen you do,” Gingrich joked to host Sean Hannity. “You go from a live shot of Donald Trump surrounded by thousands of people hanging on his every word to the pathetic, chaotic, confused, clearly addled former Vice President of the United States.”
Gingrich said Trump’s address was a reminder of why the former president remains a dominant cultural and political force. “It wasn’t political. It was about having faith in yourself. It was about persevering. It was about things that every young person should be learning,” he said. “That’s why I think Trump will be historically far more than just a political figure.”
But it wasn’t just about speeches. Gingrich and Hannity turned their attention to new polling numbers expected to be released this week, which Hannity previewed as exposing the “false” narrative being pushed by corporate media outlets.
“All of the polls that the media has been pushing on the American people about Donald Trump are false,” Hannity said. “All of those people, the ones that say, ‘Oh, he’s plummeting’… they’re ignoring [that] Chuck is at 17 percent and the Democrats are in the 20s.”
Gingrich didn’t hold back. “Well, I mean, first of all, they’re just plain lying. And I think we’ve got to be tougher and clearer about how dishonest these people are,” he said. He cited conversations with pollsters John McLaughlin and Matt Towery, who told him some recent polls only included 27% Republican respondents — despite Trump receiving roughly 50% of the vote.

I recall that some of the polls going into the 2024 election showed Kamala Harris with a lead she never really had, and the vote totals in 2024 were not even that close, as Trump won. I wonder how much of these polls were an attempt to rig the election for Democrats. I have read some reports that the media is made up of over 90 percent Democrats, who clearly got it wrong on their predictions. My own thoughts on Harris were that she was a weak candidate who was inarticulate most of the time and accused of speaking "word salads." The Democrats were unable to provide speechwriters for her to make her look better.
