Secret Service investigating former FBI director

The Secret Service has launched an investigation into former FBI Director James Comey following accusations that he incited violence against President Donald Trump through a cryptic Instagram post. The post, which was deleted shortly after sparking outrage, featured an image of seashells arranged to form the numbers “8647,” accompanied by the caption, “Cool shell formation on my beach walk.”

The controversy erupted on Thursday when Trump administration officials and the president’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., interpreted the post as a veiled death threat. In restaurant and bar slang, “86” often means to remove or eliminate something—or someone. Given that Trump is the 47th president of the United States, critics quickly connected the dots, viewing the numbers as a coded call to harm the president.

White House deputy chief of staff Taylor Budowich condemned the post on X, writing, “While President Trump is currently on an international trip to the Middle East, the former FBI Director puts out what can clearly be interpreted as ‘a hit’ on the sitting President of the United States — a message etched in the sand. This is deeply concerning to all of us and is being taken seriously.”

Donald Trump Jr. amplified the accusations, sharing a screenshot of Comey’s post on X and stating, “Just James Comey causally [sic] calling for my dad to be m*rdered. This is who the Dem-Media worships. Demented!!!!”

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem confirmed the Secret Service’s involvement, posting on X, “Disgraced former FBI Director James Comey just called for the assassination of @POTUS Trump. DHS and Secret Service is investigating this threat and will respond appropriately.”

I am not familiar with bar slang these days, but the consensus in the media is that "86" means eliminating.   Comey should be smarter than this.  He appears to have joined the irrational hatred of Trump.  As I have said before, Trump has been a good president on both domestic and foreign policy issues.  He is clearly much better than Biden, the last Democrat to hold that office.

Drones appear to be replacing jets for many operations.  The Russia-Ukraine war is an example of that.  Drones are often hard to detect and can be used for intelligence operations as well as for attacking enemy targets.  It would not surprise me to see drones engaging other drones in combat.  They also cost much less than manned fighters.

Apple's huge investment in US including Texas facility

Blaze: Apple announced a $500 billion commitment to infrastructure in the United States over four years, its largest commitment to domestic spending to date. Apple said it will expand teams and facilities in Arizona, California, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Texas, and Washington as part of its new spending. With a new facility in Houston, Texas, Apple will reportedly double its investment in advanced manufacturing along with increasing investments in AI and silicon engineering. The company said in a press release that the Houston facility will produce servers to support Apple Intelligence, the "personal intelligence system that helps users write, express themselves, and get things done." ... The Texas facility will be for advanced technologies.   Texas has become a place that is very supportive of the tech industries.  Austin and Houston have seen much of the tech growth in the state.  Texas universities have been active in the AI field.
