Nasir Ahmad Tawhedi, an Afghan national accused of plotting an ISIS-inspired terror attack on Election Day in the U.S., reportedly worked as a security guard for the CIA in Afghanistan, according to NBC News.

While Tawhedi, 27, held the security role, sources confirmed that he was not an informant for the agency.

Tawhedi, who was arrested in Oklahoma on Monday, entered the U.S. on September 9, 2021, just weeks after the Taliban regained control of Afghanistan and U.S. troops withdrew from the country.

It’s unclear how long he worked as a security guard before arriving in America.

Officials haven’t disclosed whether there were any prior signs linking him to radical Islam before his arrival.

At the time of his arrest, Tawhedi was living in Oklahoma City under a special immigrant visa, which should have subjected him to extensive screening, according to NBC sources.

His visa was among the more than 70,000 granted to Afghans under the Biden-Harris administration following the U.S. pullout.

The Biden-Harris bugout from Afghanistan was one of the biggest fiascos in US history. The military was not given enough notice, which would have allowed time to organize and retreat orderly.  Such retreats are called retrograde operations.  They would have allowed bringing US equipment out at the same time.  The cost of this operation was in the billions to the US military and at the same time left critical weapon systems in control of terrorists in Afghanistan.
