Conservative lawyer finds an approach to contain abortions
NY Times:
Behind the Texas Abortion Law, a Persevering Conservative Lawyer
Jonathan Mitchell has never had a high profile in the anti-abortion movement, but he developed and promoted the legal approach that has flummoxed the courts and enraged abortion rights supporters.
It is not much of a challenge to enrage the pro-abortion lobby.
They resist even the slightest restrictions of the abortions right up to the delivery of the baby.
As medical science shows the baby in the womb becomes viable sometimes months before delivery they still resist restrictions of the killing of a viable life in the womb. The Texas law uses the baby's heartbeat as a determining factor which pushes the envelope for an abortion to a matter of weeks from conception. If the law stands it will probably result in more usage of the "morning-after" drug to abort the fetus.
