Copenhagen shooter shot by police

NY Times:

Police Say They Killed Suspect in 2 Attacks in Copenhagen

The police in Denmark said officers had shot a suspect who killed a man at an event featuring a cartoonist who had caricatured the Prophet Muhammad, and another person near a synagogue. The dual attacks had a resemblance to last month’s attacks in Paris.
Police were able to trace the suspect through a cab driver who picked the guy up after he ditched a car.  The driver gave them the address where he dropped the guy off.  When they went to question him he apparently opened fire on the police and was killed by return fire.  So far he has not been identified, but his MO is similar to that of the Paris mass murderers.  Police presence at the free speech event and the synagogue apparently frustrated this shooters attempt at mass murder although two were killed and several police were wounded.

His targets suggest he was another Islamic religious bigots.  It is the type of attack that is leading to a lessening of respect for Islam despite the attempts of political leaders to suggest the acts of the bigots have nothing to do with Islam.  That is a difficult argument to make under the circumstances.  Intolerance by the bigots is likely to lead to less tolerance for their religious beliefs.
