Taliban leader killed in drone strike

NY Times:

Drone Strike Is Said to Kill a Top Pakistani Taliban Figure

A suspected American strike early Wednesday killed Wali ur-Rehman, the deputy leader, two Pakistani officials said, dealing a potentially serious blow to the insurgency.
In addition to ur-Rehman the strike Long War Journal reports Pakistan officials as saying  it killed "an aide known as Fakhar-ul-Islam is said to have been killed in the strike along with "two unknown Uzbek nationals," according to CNN."

This is a big loss for the Taliban religious bigots.  They may have let down their guard after Obama's recent speech on limiting future drone strikes.
