The lawyer for a Canadian man who spent 10 years at the U.S. military prison at Guantánamo says his client has been transferred from a prison in Ontario to one in Western Canada after another inmate threatened his life.

Omar Khadr, 26, was repatriated to Canada in September to serve out the remaining six years of his sentence. The son of an alleged al-Qaida financier, Khadr pleaded guilty in 2010 to hurling a grenade that killed a U.S. soldier during a firefight in Afghanistan. He was 15 at the time.
