71 % in Wisconsin think Walker proposal is fair

Mark Tapscott:

A survey of 500 likely voters in Wisconsin found 71 percent saying Gov. Scott Walker's two major budget proposals to require public employees in the Badger State to pay more for their pensions and health care benefits are "fair," according to WisconsinReporter.com.

The survey, which has a 4.5 percent + or minus margin of error, was conducted by Pulse Opinion Research on Feb. 21.

While 71 percent of the respondents said Walker's proposal to require public employees to pay 5.8 percent of their salaries toward pensions and 12.6 percent toward health care benefits as fair, 22 percent said the proposals were not fair. Another seven percent weren't sure one way or the other.

...

More than two-thirds of the respondents, 68 percent, said President Obama spend his time focusing on the federal budget rather than becoming involved in the Wisconsin debate.

...
They actually polled more Democrats than Republicans. This is probably one of the reasons the unions caved so quickly on the requirement of employee contributions..
