Texas offers plan to help Trump with deportation

 DC Daily Journal:

...

Texas is stepping up to support President-elect Donald Trump’s promise to secure America’s borders and restore law and order by offering over 1,400 acres of land for the incoming administration’s mass deportation operations.

The tract, located in Starr County within the Rio Grande Valley, is positioned to serve as a key hub in Trump’s plan to remove violent criminals who have entered the country illegally.

Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham revealed the bold move in a letter to Trump, stating her office is “fully prepared to enter into an agreement with the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or the United States Border Patrol to allow a facility to be built for the processing, detention, and coordination of the largest deportation of violent criminals in the nation’s history.”

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Buckingham emphasized her support for Trump’s strong stance on immigration and public safety.

“What I care about is that we have safe communities, and there is no doubt that we are losing too many of our children to these violent criminals that are coming across the border,” she said.

“I am 100% on board with the Trump administration’s pledge to get these criminals out of our country, and we are more than happy to offer our resources to facilitate those deportations.”

Starr County is 97 percent Hispanic, but recently Trump won most of its votes.  The county is cooperating with Texas and the immigration service to facilitate the deportations.  The county is on the border and inland from the Gulf of Mexico.  I suspect the land being offered is rather sparse in vegetation other than cactus.
