Afghan refugee believed to be attempted axe murder on German train

A man armed with an axe injured four people on a train in southern Germany before being shot dead by police, officials say.

Three people were seriously hurt and one suffered minor injuries in the attack in Wuerzburg, police said.

Initial reports said up to 20 people had been injured but it was later revealed that at least 14 had been treated for shock.

The identity of the attacker or the motive is not yet clear.

A Bavarian official quoted by German media said that the attacker was a 17-year-old Afghan refugee, but this was not confirmed.
If it had happened in the US the Democrats would be calling for "common sense axe laws."  If the identity of the perp is confirmed as an Afghan refugee it will raise more questions about the European refugee policy.  That is probably unlikely to deter Obama and Hillary Clinton's refugee program to bring more Muslims into the US.

The Telegraph reports another clue about his intentions.
A spokesman for the Bavarian interior ministry said the attacker shouted "Allahu Akbar" (God is great).
The paper also confirmed the attacker was an Afghan refugee.
