Why the response to the hurricane looks so inept

FEMA states on their website that 'diversity, equity, and inclusion cannot be optional'

You want people coming to the rescue to be selected on merit, not DEI.  When the going gets tough you need tough people coming to the rescue.  By the way, the NFL and NBA teams do not select players based on DEI.
