Jan. 6 committee makes bogus referral about Trump
National Review:
The January 6 committee on Monday referred former president Donald Trump to the Department of Justice for prosecution on four charges related to his conduct leading up to and during the riot that occurred in the Capitol in the wake of his defeat in the 2020 presidential election.
The referrals include obstruction of an official proceeding, conspiracy to defraud the U.S., making a false statement, and inciting an insurrection, the last of which could disqualify Trump from holding public office in the future. Trump recently announced his third presidential bid.
...
This is all about thwarting democracy and an attempt to criminalize Trump so they do not have to face him in an election. It is an attack not only on him but his supporters whom they might like to do the same thing too. The evidence is clear that Trump told his supporters to peacefully protest and that he was nowhere near where the minor riot occurred. This committee was made up of people who hate Trump for political reasons and was never a good-faith effort. I do not know whether Trump can even get the nomination this year, but that decision should be made by voters and not by a cabal of haters.

Raskin is a partisan who has tried before to thwart Democracy to prevent Trump from taking office or even seeking election.
