Taliban renews support for al Qaeda?

Pentagon watchdog says Taliban are already offering SAFE HAVEN to AL Qaeda even as the White House appeals to Afghanistan's new rulers not to let terrorist group return

 

A Pentagon watchdog on Tuesday reported that the Taliban was offering 'safe haven' to Al Qaeda, just a day after President Biden said the war in Afghanistan had succeeded in ensuring the country could not be used to launch attacks against the U.S.  

The revelation will bring fresh questions about why Biden was intent on pushing through the U.S. withdrawal so fast.

And with U.S. troops and diplomats heading for the exits, who is left behind to provide intelligence on the deadly terrorist group?

The new report by the Lead Inspector General for Operation Freedom’s Sentinel - the name of the U.S. mission in Afghanistan - said terrorist networks including ISIS had made the most of the Department of Defense's drawdown.

At best, the Biden administration's knowledge of facts on the ground is incoherent and likely as wrong as its judgment was on the ability of the Afghan army.

Apple's huge investment in US including Texas facility

Blaze: Apple announced a $500 billion commitment to infrastructure in the United States over four years, its largest commitment to domestic spending to date. Apple said it will expand teams and facilities in Arizona, California, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Texas, and Washington as part of its new spending. With a new facility in Houston, Texas, Apple will reportedly double its investment in advanced manufacturing along with increasing investments in AI and silicon engineering. The Texas facility will be for advanced technologies.   Texas has become a place that is very supportive of the tech industries.  Austin and Houston have seen much of the tech growth in the state.  Texas universities have been active in the AI field.
