Texas continues to be a leader in job creation

Dallas Morning News:
Texas employers created 37,500 new jobs in November, marking the 115th straight month of gains, and unemployment held steady at a historic low rate, according to data released Friday by the Texas Workforce Commission.

The jobless rate remained at 3.4% for the sixth straight month. That’s the lowest since TWC began its tracking in 1976.
...
Dallas-Fort Worth unemployment was even lower at 3%. Texas’ Permian Basin region around Midland continued to lead the state, with a jobless rate of 2.1%.

Texas was one of only six states to add jobs in November and it led the nation, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. In the last 12 months, companies in the Lone Star State created a nation’s best 336,700 new jobs.

Leading the state’s job growth in November was the education and health services sector which added 10,200 positions, followed by the trade, transportation and utilities industry with 8,000. The manufacturing sector added 6,300 jobs. Eight major industries reported job growth last month.

There is more.

It looks like the growth is in part attributable to adding infrastructure to service the growth in jobs in other areas.  The Texas model of low regulation and low taxes continues to produce good jobs.
