Obama vs. Boehner on tax cuts

Susan Ferrechio talks about how the President has decided to personalize the fight with the House Minority Leader. I suspect is is because he was not getting any traction running against President Bush.

While Boehner should continue to frame the debate in terms of the economic impact of Obama's bad policy choice he should also frame it in terms of what percentage of taxes the top two percent of taxpayers should have to pay. Most people would already conclude that the rich are already paying more than their fair share if they knew what the percentage was. In fact their percent of total income taxes paid went up after the Bush tax cuts and Obama would drive it up even higher.

BTW, I am not even close to being in that tax bracket so this is not some self serving argument. It is about what is right for the economy and for creating jobs. One thing Obama has already proved is that the government is not very good at creating private sector jobs. But the small businesses whose owners are in this tax bracket excel at creating jobs and we should not allow Obama to rob them of that opportunity.
