Voting against judicial imposition of liberalism
From the NY Times:
I don't have the same problem with this that the NY Times has. When judicial decisions are made to overturn statutes that liberals do not like the liberal judges should live with the consequences of their decisions. When ther were still Democrats on the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals they always seemed to be finding picky reasons to overturn jury decisions. Voters got tired of that and people ran against them who said they would put a stop to it and they did.
The Iowas Supreme Court Justices who found a ban on gay marriage unconstitutional have made a political decision and should bear the consequences of that political decision. If the people of Iowa want to vote to approve gay marriage they can. It should not be a decision for the court.
