Name that party--shakedown in Rhode Island
The NY Times story on a small town restaurant in Rhode Island that wanted a permit to extend its hours for selling wieners to 3 a.m.omits certain facts.
After the vote on this rather innocuous request was postponed a couple of times the owner is invited to city hall where he is told he is going to have to pay $5,000 to get his permit. He declines, but he is not the only victim of the shakedown and the FBI makes a case.
There is no mention of the party identification of the three guys who had their hand out. We therefore have to assume they were Democrats until it is reported otherwise.
