Killers thrive in "gun free zones"
Michelle Malkin:
There have been many stories where people with concealed carry permits and weapons have stopped criminal activity. It is very possible that the Virginia Tech murder would have had fewer victims if someone else besides him had a gun.
Glenn Reynolds has more on the concealed carry issue including this:
Neal Boortz has more thoughts on the value of concealed carry laws.
David Kopel says gun free zones only make the killers safer.
Quoted material removed. You may read the original at the link above.Too many who oppose conceal carry failed to see the counterintuitive logic of the legislation, but it is real. Where conceal carry is allowed all crime is reduced. I am not aware of any cases where someone with a conceal carry permit has used the gun for criminal purposes. It is possible they have, but logic suggest that if so we would have heard about from the opponents of these laws.

...It is the same fantasy that drives the the left in their position on Iraq. If we stand down the enemy will too. It is not going to happen, but they keep wishing it to be.
"Gun-free zones" are premised on a fantasy: That murderers will follow rules, and that people like my student, or Bradford Wiles, are a greater danger to those around them than crazed killers like Cho Seung-hui. That's an insult. Sometimes, it's a deadly one.

Good post.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely agree with MM... "Instead of teaching students to defend their beliefs, American educators shield them from vigorous debate." Another downfall of modern day American education.
