Danish muslim convicted on terrorism charges

A Moroccan-born Dane was sentenced on Wednesday to 3-1/2 years in prison on charges of inciting Muslims to holy war using videotapes, CDs and DVDs including footage of beheadings in Chechnya.

Said Mansur, who had been under arrest since September 2005, was accused of producing and distributing material containing ``inflammatory, jihadist speeches'' under anti-terrorism laws introduced after the September 11 attacks on the United States.

``The evidence was indisputable,'' said judge Jens Stausbol from Copenhagen City Court.

Mansur was not stripped of his Danish citizenship, thus avoiding deportation to his native Morocco when he completes his sentence.

He smiled and shouted ``Allahu akhbar (God is great)'' as he left the courtroom. His defense attorneys said they were considering appealing against the verdict.

``It really gives you something to think about, that it's possible to be convicted when you are so far away from the crime,'' said defense lawyer Gitte Juul Jensen. ``It's starting to get political when you compare Islamism and terrorism.''

This lawyer cannot be serious. How many Methodist have had to prosecuted for inciting Methodist to holy war using videotapes, CDs and DVDs including footage of beheadings in Chechnya. If they think they have a religious right to that kind of culture they are as sick as the Mayans who believed in human sacrifice and cutting out the beating human heart. What is also sick is the multi cultural atmosphere that can no longer condemn this type of barbarity by Mayans or Muslims.

Drones appear to be replacing jets for many operations.  The Russia-Ukraine war is an example of that.  Drones are often hard to detect and can be used for intelligence operations as well as for attacking enemy targets.  It would not surprise me to see drones engaging other drones in combat.  They also cost much less than manned fighters.

Apple's huge investment in US including Texas facility

Blaze: Apple announced a $500 billion commitment to infrastructure in the United States over four years, its largest commitment to domestic spending to date. Apple said it will expand teams and facilities in Arizona, California, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Texas, and Washington as part of its new spending. With a new facility in Houston, Texas, Apple will reportedly double its investment in advanced manufacturing along with increasing investments in AI and silicon engineering. The Texas facility will be for advanced technologies.   Texas has become a place that is very supportive of the tech industries.  Austin and Houston have seen much of the tech growth in the state.  Texas universities have been active in the AI field.
