Iraqi Ministry of Interior says AP source not a cop

I have just learned from Mr. Costlow, mentioned below, that Brig. Gen. Abdul-Karim Khalaf, the official Ministry of Interior spokesmen, will begin his regularly scheduled press conference at noon tomorrow with a statement that Capt. Jamil Hussein, is not a Baghdad police officer or an MOI employee.

Yesterday, coincidently, the Iraqi Ministry of Interior issued a press release warning of spreading propaganda aimed at broadcasters. The text of this statement follows:

This is another Centcom email excerpt. The AP has a real problem or the Iraqi Ministry of Interior does. Perhaps bot are being victimized by someone pretending to be a policeman, but it is up to the AP to go to the Ministry of Interior and get a confirmation on their source. As I said before, the latest attempt by the AP is like a writer of bad checks offering to replace a returned check by writing another.
