Enemy uses woman as blasting cap mule in Iraq

Stars & Stripes:

Amid tight security, continued steps in the political process and a string of attacks in Baghdad, U.S. raids in and around the capital Monday resulted in several arrests and weapons seizures.

In one of the raids, troops operating in the Abu Ghraib district detained three Iraqi men and an Iraqi woman who was allegedly hiding some 50 blasting caps under her clothing. The men were arrested with weapons including several assault weapons and a sniper rifle.

...

The troops searched another house near the first site and uncovered another cache that included eight “shape charges” used in roadside bomb attacks, five pressure plate detonators and a partly finished booby trap on the door of the house.

...

A productive day for the troops, and a continued policy of the enemy camoflaging himself and herself as civilians in violation of the Geneva Convention.
