Biden-Harris try to save Hamas, Hezballah?

In an effort to stabilize the situation, the Biden-Harris administration has been advocating for a ceasefire and regional de-escalation, hoping for a resolution before election day. However, these efforts have not materialized, leading campaign officials to express concerns about potential impacts on Democratic voter turnout.

“It’s a huge concern. It comes down to people saying, ‘I can’t support anyone who supports a genocide,’” a Harris campaign official told the Post, using a controversial term to characterize Israel’s military actions against Hamas in Gaza.

Despite months of diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving a ceasefire, progress has stalled, with neither side showing interest in a viable agreement. Additionally, Israeli forces have intensified military operations against Hezbollah, which has been launching attacks against Israel since last year.

Tensions with Iran have also escalated, with the country firing nearly 200 ballistic missiles into Israeli territory on October 1. Reports indicate that Israel may launch retaliatory strikes in the coming weeks.

The administration’s ability to influence the conflict appears to be waning as time goes on, leading officials to reflect on past actions and decisions. “What we did had the effect of endorsing Israel’s military campaign before understanding whether Israel had a viable exit strategy,” Andrew Miller, a former State Department official, stated. “I don’t think there’s anyone in the administration who could say with a straight face Israel had a clearly defined end-state.”

The Harris campaign is particularly concerned about losing support among Democratic voters due to the ongoing conflict and U.S. backing of Israel. This worry is especially pronounced in Michigan, a key swing state with a significant Muslim and Arab population.

Hamas and Hezballah have both expressed their genocidal intent toward Israel. Now that they are losing they want a ceasefire.  But a ceasefire at this point only benefits them and not Israel.  Israel should be allowed to destroy Hamas's and Hezballah's military capability to attack it.  Those two Islamic religious bigots should suffer the same fate as Nazi Germany.
