Why is US taking sides in contest between genocidal Islamic religious bigots?

NY Times:

Though Adversaries on the Surface, U.S. and Hezbollah Share a Goal


In practice, Hezbollah and the United States are already working — separately — on a common goal: to stop the extremist Islamic State from moving into Lebanon.
Hezballah is actually responsible for the deaths of more Americans than the Islamic State so why isn't the US working to see both lose this fight?  I can understand our support of the Kurds.  I oppose helping Hezballah.  It is an organization antithetical to peace in the region.

The Democrat surrender monkeys

Don Surber: ... The Democratic Party victory is seen as a victory for the opponents of democracy in the Middle East in general and Iraq in particular. I am not blaming Democrats. I blame the 31 million Americans who have given up after less than 4 years. They may not eat cheese, but they are surrender monkeys. That half of them supported the war when it began is sickening.
