Police Crack Down on Protests in Hong Kong

The police used tear gas and pepper spray as they tried to clear away pro-democracy demonstrators on Sunday near the city’s government offices.
The thought of having people select their own leaders must be pretty scary for the Chinese government.  The refusal to permit people to select their own leaders will make it harder for the Chicoms to persuade the Chinese on Taiwan to join them.
