She should be asking ICE and the Border Patrol

Daily Mail: Kamala Harris is turning to Wall Street and Silicon Valley CEOs for advice on the 'root causes' of migration and how to fix supply chain issues She appears to be turning to those who know as little about the subject as she does.  It is evidence of how unserious she is about dealing with the problem.

Trans teachers grooming students?

Zero Hedge: Rod Dreher at  The American Conservative  details the disturbing trend of school teachers openly bragging on popular social media platforms about indoctrinating young children in their classes with transgender and "sexual rights" instruction. "Call it confidence, or call it arrogance, but there are some  young schoolteachers who brag on TikTok about telling the little kids in their class all about transgenderism and gender theory ," Dreher  writes . It comes also as a number of media reports in the US and UK have correlated the amount of time children spend online consuming content on apps like TikTok and their willingness to "come out" as a different gender, at increasingly young ages. One recent  Daily Mail  article observes that "Campaigners have accused TikTok of  helping children to be 'brainwashed' by hosting viral social-media videos that promote changing sex as 'cool' ." ... This is a form of chil...

Liberal judges turning killers loose in Houston

Breitbart: A report by Houston’s FOX26 claims over 150 people have been killed by suspects whom Democrat judges have released on bond in Harris County, Texas. Moreover, FOX26  points out  that a number of the suspects doing the killing were charged with “capital murder,” described as “the most egregious offense in the criminal code.” They note “no fewer than 113 defendants charged with capital murder have been inexplicably granted bond and released back onto our streets pending trial.” KHOU-11   found   the same trend when they looked at “407 capital murder charges filed in Harris County between September 2016 and September 2021.” They discovered that “records show 113 or 28 percent” of those suspects were released on bond. An example of the violence perpetrated by the freed suspects was seen in the slaying of 71-year-old Martha Medina. She “was robbed of her purse, then run over and killed in September outside a McDonald’s in northeast Houston.”...

Taking on Chicago's failed politicians

Power Line: Like so many interesting writers, former Chicago Tribune columnist John Kass has  set up shop  on Substack. Professor Glenn Loury has also  set up shop  on Substack. Kass connected with Loury via Twitter and wrote about it  here  in a December 18 post. Lightfoot, Foxx, Preckwinkle, Pritzker, Judge Evans. Look at what your liberal policies have done to Chicago, city of anarchy. You’ve killed the city. You make speeches about “equity”Disgusting and shameless  https://t.co/QvwPigHu1i — John Kass (@John_Kass)  December 5, 2021 This is not "systemic racism." Rather, it's savagery running amok right in the center of my hometown, Chicago. The perpetrators are black youth. I wonder why not…  https://t.co/rU2pbgbZ4N — Glenn Loury (@GlennLoury)  December 9, 2021 ...  Loury is a distinguished black professor who is clear-eyed about the ...

Vaccine mandates made America more vulnerable

Fox News: COVID-19 vaccine mandates have put some vital U.S health and safety institutions in a tough spot after cutting personnel who didn’t comply. Overlapping federal mandates for military personnel, state mandates for health care workers, and other private mandates have created an increasingly difficult situation in the face of the omicron variant as numbers continue to surge in some states due to the much greater transmissibility of the variant. President Biden in August issued a federal vaccine mandate that required military personnel in each branch to receive a vaccination, and later issued one for any business with over 100 employees. The military has insisted that the number of separations do not present a problem, but other sectors, such as public health and safety, have struggled to handle the loss of personnel. Each military branch had a different deadline, but by Dec. 15 each deadline had passed and the services began to separate personnel who refused to comply o...

The Biden foreign policy debacles

Washington Examiner: ... The Afghanistan debacle looms largest here. In March,  Biden said  that when it came to withdrawing U.S. military forces, "We’re going to do so in a safe and orderly way." He explained, "We’re in consultation ... with our allies and partners in how to proceed." That did not happen. Instead, Biden insisted, against military advice and basic logic, on withdrawing  all  U.S. forces from Afghanistan. This meant the departure of 2,500 troops and associated contractors who were providing Afghan security forces with irreplaceable logistics, maintenance, intelligence, and air support. With the U.S. in full flight, the Afghan military quickly collapsed. The Afghan political class retreated in fear and disorder. The Taliban stormed toward Kabul. The terrible scenes from Kabul's international airport were the result of Biden's poor planning. Top U.S. allies were ignored when they begged Biden to extend the Aug. 31 withdrawal deadline. The trut...

Biden's Covid double standard

Red States: ... What we are seeing is the naked contempt of an administration that is openly discriminatory towards its own citizens. When it was some rube from Pensacola getting COVID, the federal government treated it as a moral failing, unworthy of invoking a review of current policies. Yet, when it is elites testing positive from Georgetown, the administration is suddenly very flexible and is willing to do what’s necessary to keep society moving. But society doesn’t just exist in and around the Acela Corridor. It includes Memphis, Jackson, Dallas, Miami, and a slew of other cities in red states that were given none of that same courtesy. The Northeastern, beltway-dwelling apparatchiks that run our government see two Americas. To them, those that live outside the trappings of far-left state governments are deserving of scorn and never worthy of fairness. This is why governors like Ron DeSantis telling Biden to pound sand have been so important. It’s not just about owning the li...

Illegals' privilege

Mike Miller: Liberal Judge Rules Ousting Illegal Aliens Who Reenter the Country 'Racist' and 'Unconstitutional' Only a liberal Democrat could come up with a ruling this out of touch with reality.  The judge sounds like some of the Democrats in Congress who want to import Democrats and give them voting rights.  See, also: Migrants surge as confusion spreads on southern border

Democrats opposition to democracy

Peter Zane: Democrats have challenged the legitimacy of every presidential election they’ve lost this millennium: They blamed a corrupt Supreme Court for their defeat in 2000, crooked voting machines in 2004 and Russian interference in 2016 – sparking a years-long collusion hoax to knee-cap Trump’s presidency. But now, as President Biden’s poll numbers tank, his legislative agenda falters and his party’s 2022 prospects look increasingly grim, they and their media allies are adding a new twist to the tactic: They’re challenging elections before they happen. Prestigious news outlets including the New York Times , Washington Post , the Atlantic , NPR and the New York Review of Books warn that American democracy is under siege. With headlines ripped straight from Democratic Party talking points they argue that Republicans are planning a two-pronged coup to seize power in 2022 and beyond. Step one, they say, is a series of election laws being passed by GOP state legislatures designe...

Black gang privilege

PJ Media: Washington State Democrats Want Decreased Penalties for Drive-By Shooters Because... Aw, You Guessed ...   Currently, Washington law holds that a drive-by shooter should get an aggravated enhancement if he is arrested and prosecuted—and that’s a big if. Such an enhancement could land a drive-by murderer a life prison sentence. But under a bill proposed for the upcoming Washington state legislature by white, woke ex-con state Rep. Tarra Simmons and her co-sponsor David Hackney, the reduction in penalties is a move toward “racial equity.” That’s right, drive-by shooting  prosecutorial outcomes  are racist. Never mind all the black and brown people who are the disproportionate victims of drive-by shootings. KIRO-TV News reported  last July  that “80% of shooting victims in King County are people of color,” but the city put its “defund the police” dollars behind an effort to hire social workers as part of a “regional peacekeepers collecti...

DC officials and Capitol police refused National Guard for Jan. 6

Newsmax: Kash Patel, the former chief of staff to the acting United States secretary of defense under President Donald Trump, told Newsmax that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser said "no in writing" to Trump sending "10 to 20,000 National Guardsman" to the Capitol prior to the riot. "Two days before Jan. 6," Patel told " Spicer & Co. ," we "were in the Oval Office ... [where] basically the president authorized 10 to 20,000 National Guards' men and women around the country if needed, and the law requires that authorization. So President Trump preemptively took that action. "We then, the Department of Defense, went to Mayor Bowser, the Capitol Police, who are, of course, reporting to Nancy Pelosi and said, 'Look, we have the authorization, but we need the request under federal law to come from the mayor and the Capitol Police for National Guardsman on Jan. 6. They said 'no,' in writin...

GOP governors tell Biden to ditch the mandates

Daily Mail: Now get rid of your mandates, Joe: Ron DeSantis' office joins Kristi Noem and host of Republicans demanding Biden get rid of 'useless' sweeping nationwide rules after he admitted there was 'no federal solution' for COVID It is obvious that Biden's policies have not worked to stop the virus or properly deal with it.

Unexpected abortion stories

Andrea Widburg: FiveThirtyEight, a left-leaning site, put out a request for information.  On Christmas Day, it asked women to send in their abortion stories (and yes, it spoke of women, not birthing people) and provided a form by which they could do so.  We don't know what responses they got from the form, but the responses on Twitter are amazing.  An overwhelming number came from women who did not have an abortion or regretted having one, or from children who are grateful they weren't aborted.  I'll share some with you. ... I found myself unexpectedly pregnant at the age of 22 in my last semester of college with my daughter. Her father and I decided to marry, and she is still the most unexpected blessing in our lives.
