JJ Watt to pay funeral expense for victims in Waukesha

J.J. Watt will reportedly pay for any funeral costs of those killed by a black nationalist during a Christmas parade Sunday night in Wisconsin.

The Arizona Cardinals star hails from Waukesha, where six people have now died and about 50 more were injured, when Darrell Brooks drove his SUV through a large crowd at the town’s annual Christmas parade.

The horrific rampage likely hits close to home for Watt, who was born in the city of 70,000 and played football just north of town at Pewaukee High School.

He described the images of the scene as “horrific,” expressing hope for the injured and gratefulness to first responders on the scene.

Watt is a good guy.  I followed him when he played for the Houston Texans and raised millions for a flood relief effort after Hurricane Harvey.  He was named the NFL Man of the Year in 2017 for his effort that helped provide more than 1,100 homes in the Houston area.

29 % of companies say they are unlikely to keep insurance after Obamacare

Conn Carroll: A new survey of 368 midsize to large companies found that 29% of them are considering terminating their active employee health care plans when Obamacare is full implemented in 2014. Only 71% of employers surveyed said they did not expect to drop their health coverage, while 20% said they did not know and 9% said they were planning to exit. The latest survey, conducted by Towers Watson, echoes an ealier survey by McKinsey & Co. finding that 30% of private-sector employers were planning to drop their employee health insurance coverage by 2014.
