UAW loses election at Tennessee Volkswagen plant

NY Times:

Volkswagen Workers in Tennessee Reject Joining a Union

The United Automobile Workers’ loss in Chattanooga is expected to slow, perhaps stymie, the union’s plans to organize other plants in the South.
This was a smart move.  The UAW helped to destroy the auto business in Detroit and it would make no sense to allow them to do the same in other parts of the country.  If they really had anything to offer companies, the plants would have been built in Detroit to start with.  But the UAW and liberal politicians managed to take Detroit from one of the most prosperous places on the earth to a basket case economy in about 50 years.  That is a lesson on the evils of liberalism and their cohorts in the union shops.

  1. It was actually fairly close, 53:47%. I expect the UAW will be back. For some reason, those who wish to destroy have much greater tenacity and single mindedness than those who wish to preserve and build.
