Venezuela's low functioning President wants some answers

Venezuela demands US explanation over alleged assassination plot
The first question raised by this demand is what makes this guy think he is important enough to kill?  It is probably closer to US interest to have someone this paranoid and incompetent stay in office because he might be replaced with someone more competent.
