Iraq troops move into Amarah
The news agency which does not like to be quoted reports that the enemy has been throwing its weapons into the street or into a canal as the Iraqi troops moved into the city. This suggest surrender to me.
Amarah was another city controlled by Sadr militia. It is adjacent to the border with Iran. The Brits refused to patrol it because of the hostility, but the Iraqis appear to be welcome there. This is another huge loss of Iran and Sadr.
