Money can buy happiness?
Houston Chronicle:
These 2 Texas cities are ranked among the happiest in America
Spoiler alert: they happen to be two of the state's wealthiest cities.
Whoever said money can't buy happiness was a damn liar, a new study shows.
In a recent analysis of the happiest and least happy American cities in 2022, Texas scored two spots in the top 10. And, in a perhaps unsurprising turn, both cities happen to be two of the wealthiest in the Lone Star State.
Coming in at number five is Frisco, Texas. Located about 20 minutes north of Dallas, Frisco has one of the highest rates of individuals making $100,000 or more annually and one of the lowest rates of personal bankruptcy filings per 100,000 residents in the state, according to data collected by the financial advice and research firm SmartAsset, who conducted the 2022 happiness analysis.
Just one spot behind and about five minutes south of Frisco is the number six happiest city in the U.S.: Plano, Texas. Like Frisco, the average Plano resident make far more than most Americans, with a median household income over $96,348 in 2021, and one of the highest rates of individuals making over $100,000 annually in 2022, according to SmartAsset's data.
