After calling Trump irresponsible it makes sense to shut up

 NY Times:

Advisers to President Biden calculated that the Justice Department would view possession of the documents as little more than a good-faith mistake.

That may have been one calculation, but I think Biden's comments about Trump keeping documents made anything he might say look like an excuse for his own irresponsiblity.
