Tax cuts are hard, or maybe not

NY Times:

Cutting Taxes is Hard. Trump is Making it Harder.

Republicans are worried that Trump’s musings could doom their best chance for a sweeping tax rewrite.

Tax Cuts Are Coming. So Are the Fights About Paying for Them.

Cutting taxes isn’t hard. Paying for them is. Republicans are running into a math problem as they try to change longstanding tax preferences in their $1.5 trillion tax rewrite. (Emphasis added.)
Actually history shows that cutting taxes increases revenue to the treasury because of increased productivity.  It happened with the Kennedy cuts and the Reagan cuts as well as the cuts forced on Clinton.

Unfortunately Congress did not have fiscal discipline during the Kennedy and Reagan cuts.  Under Clinton a Republican forced him to cuts spending and it head to balanced budgets and reducing the deficit.

It really was not that hard.
