Leading from behind means a loss of leverage in shaping a solution

Saudi Resolve on Yemen Reflects Limits of U.S. Strategy

An aerial operation by Saudi-led forces in Taiz, combined with reports of continued fighting, dampened hopes for a broad cease-fire.
There is little reason to expect a cease fire.  The Huthis and al Qaeda have not been dissuaded by the aerial campaign to date and the Saudis have now had any material losses.  The US contribution has been in a support role at best.  I suspect teh Saudis will continue to look for targets for their air campaign and do what they can to shape the battlespace for sending in ground units.
