Democrats southern strategy/fantasy

NY Times:
A Sign That G.O.P. Grip on Sun Belt Is Loosening
The nominations of Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan could mark the end of an era for the Sun Belt states.
I don't buy this theory.  The Romney-Ryan nomination is a reflection that the conservatism that dominates southern politics is finding acceptance beyond the region.   I see little chance that the South is willing to accept the failed policies of liberalism that have brought ruin to blue states like California, Illinois and New York.  The high tax high regulation model is a policy of decline and unemployment.
