Iran regime near collapse?

NY Post: The winds of change could soon blow on Iran, according to a new report. The Islamic Republic is facing collapse, indicates the report, issued by UK-based Henry Jackson Society this week, as the UN accuses Tehran of executing nearly 900 people already this year “as a tool of intimidation.” If the Islamic Republic falls, “there is a danger that regime collapse could lead to a vacuum of governance that is accompanied by civil war,” according to the findings. ... Targeted attacks launched by Israel with the US in June on Iranian nuclear sites “set back the regime,” the report said, but “it has not eliminated the strategic and security threats posed by the regime.” ... The people of Iran would be better off if the current regime collapsed.  They were better off when the Shah was in charge.  Their current circumstances come from starting an unnecessary war with Israel.

Appelate court reverse Trump fine

Federalist Wire: Fresh from a major legal victory, President Donald Trump unleashed a blistering attack on New York Judge Arthur Engoron on Sunday, branding him “incompetent,” “crooked,” and almost as “corrupt” as Attorney General Letitia James. The sharp words followed a landmark appellate ruling that slashed a $500 million penalty in James’ civil fraud case against Trump. The New York Appellate Division’s decision overturned the massive fine, which stemmed from allegations that Trump inflated his real estate assets’ value to secure favorable lender terms. The five-judge panel ruled the penalty—$364 million plus interest—violated the Eighth Amendment, wiping it out entirely. Trump took to Truth Social to slam Engoron, who oversaw the non-jury trial. “The Appellate Court removed incompetent Judge Engoron, but he refused to go, or even to acknowledge them,” Trump posted. “He’s a highly overturned, CROOKED Judge, who is retiring into a life of lawsuits, along with his Chief Clerk, s...

Trump policies reduce DC crime

Federalist Wire: ... In a stunning turnaround, Washington, DC, has seen a dramatic reduction in crime since President Trump deployed federal law enforcement to the city’s streets several weeks ago. At a press conference, Democratic Mayor Muriel Bowser shared fresh data revealing an 87% drop in carjackings compared to the same period in 2024, alongside declines across all crime categories. “The federal surge has had a significant [decrease] on crime in Washington, DC, and we greatly appreciate the surge of officers that enhance what [DC’s Metropolitan Police Department] has been able to do in this city,” Bowser declared, presenting the latest crime statistics. ... From August 7 to August 27, overall crime in the District fell by 15% compared to the same 20-day period last year. Violent crime took an even steeper dive, dropping 45%, per Bowser. Bowser highlighted the plummeting carjacking rate as “the most significant thing” in the data, with just four incidents reported during the...

Weirdo science of the left

Matt Margolis: The politicization of science has spiraled completely out of control. From climate alarmism to gender ideology, there’s no shortage of reasons to question the so-called “experts.” That reality was on full display this week on CNN’s Newsnight . Host Abby Phillip played a clip of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. discussing the poor state of children’s health today — a moment the leftist panelists gleefully mocked. But the real fireworks came when Republican strategist Scott Jennings, badly outnumbered, cut through the noise. Things turned explosive the moment he stated the obvious: any scientist who claims men can get pregnant has zero credibility. That one statement sent host Abby Phillip and her panelists into hysterics. “You realize that you’re accepting some politicization of science but not others, right?” Jennings interjected. “What's the politicization of science that's been accepted?” asked Pernell. Jennings cut to the chase: “Can ...

Trump continues to search for Biden's missing children

Blaze: The Trump administration's border czar announced Friday that federal officials have found tens of thousands of the missing children lost under the Biden administration. Tom Homan made the comments on Fox News as the administration released some data about President Donald Trump's mass deportation efforts. "Out of the 300,000 children — I looked at the numbers just yesterday — we've located over 23,000 of them," Homan said. "So 23,000 locations of 300,000. President Trump's committed. We're not going to stop until we find every one of them or at least run every lead down on those 300,000 children. That's a big plus for the administration because the last administration wasn't even looking for them." The 300,000 figure is taken from a government report in 2024 about unaccompanied migrant children who had been released to sponsors or family members within the U.S. The report said that 32,000 of those children failed to show up to im...

Europe's immigration problem

Victor Davis Hanson: ... There are mass demonstrations in Britain against illegal immigration and crime that’s not treated in the way it is with citizens. There’s a perception that immigrants, many of them in Britain illegally, are not treated equally. And I mean equally in the system, that they’re not treated severely as they should be, according to the law. In Germany, there are massive defections in support for illegal migration. Remember, former Chancellor Angela Merkel said, “Yes, we can let in people from the Middle East .” Mostly Muslims. She let in 1 million into Germany. It’s got 15% to 16% of the population are aliens. They’re not German citizens. They weren’t born in Germany. We have the same type of unrest appearing in the Netherlands and, to a lesser degree, in France. Unfortunately, illegal immigration and unsecured borders are not Europe’s only problems. They made a conscientious decision—that is, most European countries—to lessen their carbon footprint, on the id...

The wishful thinking of the libs--Trump demise if overrated

Trending Politics: President Donald Trump was spotted Saturday morning ahead of a golf outing in Virginia with his grandchildren, officially debunking a sickening death hoax spread by the radical left. It is unclear exactly when or where the hoax originated, though the majority of posts on the matter pointed to the president’s lack of public appearances since Tuesday. An august 27 interview from Vice President JD Vance was also cited by hoaxers, particularly when he said he was “ready to step in if there was a terrible tragedy,” when asked a generic question about the role of vice president. Based on this sort of flimsy “evidence,” left-wing extremists took to social media to gleefully celebrate Trump’s supposed death. “They’re putting orange paint and a wig on vance as we speak,” wrote political streamer Vaush, a far-left extremist who once revealed that he has a stash of “horse porn” on his computer. “I don’t care if Trump is still alive, I’m going to like every post I see that ...

US raid on Islamic State operative in Syria

Federalist Wire: ... In the early hours of Wednesday, U.S. military forces launched a daring raid in northwestern Syria, neutralizing a prominent Islamic State operative, a U.S. official confirmed to Reuters. The operation, carried out in the town of Atmeh in Idlib province, was the second U.S. military action in northern Syria since the fall of former President Bashar al-Assad in December. The target, identified by the U.S. official as a high-ranking Islamic State member and a potential leader of the group’s Syrian branch, was k*lled during the mission. Sources noted that the raid began around 2 a.m. 1100 GMT), with U.S. troops supported by helicopters and drones providing aerial cover. Local Syrian forces secured the area, allowing American personnel to execute the strike, according to Syrian security source. Syria’s state-run Al-Ikhbariya and a Syrian security source reported that the target, an Iraqi national married to a French woman, died while attempting to escape. The fate...

Newsom has a serious math problem?

Image
MAZE This actually happened. 2022. California Governor Gavin Newsom announces that California has the biggest state budget surplus in American history. Newsom: "No other state in American history has ever experienced a surplus as large as this." Gavin proposed returning some of the money to the people. With everything being so unaffordable in California, people were happy to be getting a few dollars back from the state.  The only problem? It was all a lie. The $97.5 billion surplus was a four year projection that Newsom's people based on faulty revenue assumptions. In 2024 Newsom's team quietly put out a revision that said the 2022 projection of a $97.5 billion surplus was off by $165 billion. The biggest surplus in American history was actually a massive deficit. Absolutely on par for Gavin Newsom. How did his staff not catch an error of this size?  Did Newsom call in those responsible for the error and ask them what happened?   I have followed government spe...
