Evangelicals understand Trump better than the media does

Washington Post:

‘He gets it’: Evangelicals aren’t turned off by Trump’s first term

In interviews, religious voters paint the portrait of the President Trump they see: a president who acts like a bully but is fighting for them.
I do not think Trump acts like a bully.  He can be brutally frank in responding to criticism but that is not bullying.  You can make a stronger argument that the media and Trump's critics are the bullies.  The media and Trump's critics would prefer a stoic punching bag as President when a Republican wins and they put up a protective shield around Democrats like Obama.  That is the reality as seen by a Trump supporter.
