Vance and Miller respond to DC mob

A visit to Union Station by Vice President JD Vance, White House adviser Stephen Miller, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth took a turn on Wednesday when they faced off against a vocal group of demonstrators. The trio was gifting National Guard members, deployed as part of President Trump’s aggressive crime-fighting initiative, a meal of Shake Shack burgers. But the mood shifted as protesters in the bustling concourse unleashed a barrage of verbal attacks on the officials.

Miller didn’t hold back in his response, dismissing the demonstrators as “elderly white hippies.” He declared, “For too long, 99% of this city has been terrorized by 1% of this city. We’re going to ignore these stupid white hippies that all need to go home and take a nap because they’re all over 90 years old.”

He framed the administration’s efforts as a long-overdue push for safety, stating, this District “is not a city that has had any safety for its black citizens for generations, and President Trump is the one who is fixing that.”

Vance piled on, highlighting what he saw as a disconnect. It’s “kind of bizarre that we have a bunch of old, primarily white people who are out there protesting the policies that keep people safe when they’ve never felt danger in their entire lives,” he said.

He called it a “disgrace” that the nation’s capital, a symbol of global power, had become a place where families couldn’t walk around at night. Vance credited Trump’s leadership for tackling the issue head-on, saying, “Thank God we have the presidential leadership to change it.”

The National Guard has done a good job of controlling crime in DC.  They have made it much safer for citizens and visitors in the city.
