Marine recruits return to Parris Island

NY Times:

Making Marines Without Making Them Sick

After a brief pause, Parris Island is once again taking Marine recruits, with some
modifications to the grueling 13-week boot camp.
Boot camp is not conducive to "social distancing."  I suspect there will be a lot of temperature checks and testing on the recruits to segregate those who look like they may have the virus.  Traditionally, recruits are in a squad bay with 50 or more people in double racks.  They usually get into formation shoulder to shoulder for running or marching.  They simulate combat in close contact drills.  It will be a real challenge for the drill instructors to get them through the process and not get the virus.
