‘Sadness’ and Disbelief From a World Missing American Leadership

The coronavirus pandemic is shaking bedrock assumptions about U.S. exceptionalism. This is perhaps the first global crisis in more than a century where no one is even looking for Washington to lead.
The media has been mostly wrong about the handling of the Coronavirus from the beginning.  It opposed the Trump travel bans until they were adopted by much of the rest of the world.  It also opposed other policies that world leaders have adopted.  In a recent press briefing, President Trump discussed his teleconferences with world leaders on the virus.  It is curious that the alleged paper of record missed that story.
