House passes bill cracking down on sanctuary cities and deportees who return

Washington Post:
House passes bills to crack down on ‘sanctuary cities’ and deported criminals who return to U.S.

The bills were heavily promoted by President Trump and other Republicans but face a major obstacle in the Senate, where Democrats have pledged to oppose them.
These are bad issues for Democrats who are on the wrong side of the voters on both.  Polls show 90 percent of votes oppose sanctuary cities and there cannot be many who support allowing deported criminal aliens return to the US.

OK. Raise your hand if you favor allowing criminal aliens to escape deportation?  It may be a popular stand in San Francisco, but in the sane world, no one would support it.  I have yet to hear a rational argument is support of sanctuary cities.
