Obama's out of touch with reality in Middle East

NY Times:

Obama Says He Told Netanyahu That Talk Before Election Hurt the Peace Process

President Obama said he told Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel that his remarks that there would be no Palestinian state on his watch had stalled efforts to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
The real problem is not Netanyahu, but the Palestinians.  In a land for peace deal they can't deliver peace.  Hamas, Islamic Jihad and other factions are going to continue to try to destroy Israel no matter what deal is agreed to and even the Fatah branch continues to turn down deals and is under no pressure from the people who prop it up to make a deal.  If the US and the Arab states were serious about a deal they would be putting financial pressure on the beggar entity that represents the Palestinians.

The bottom line is that the Palestinians have nothing of value to offer the Israelis and they don't really want a deal to begin with.  Nothing Netanyahu said changed this dynamic.  Obama continues to push a fantasy agenda that will only destabilize the region further.  He is apparently listening to intellectual lightweights like Susan Rice who was gullible enough to believe that the attack in Benghazi was caused by a video few had seen.
