Egypt to provide ground troops for Saudi Yemen operations

NY Times:

Egypt Readies Ground Troops to Aid Saudis in Yemen Fight

President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi said Egypt would join a Saudi-led campaign to drive back Houthi rebels, signaling the growing likelihood of a protracted ground war on the tip of the Arabian Peninsula.
This could give the operation a chance of success.  It is doubtful that air strikes alone would work and there are probably limited targets for such strikes.  What is needed is sufficient troops to cut off the movement of the Houthis rebels so they can be isolated and contained.

What is also needed is for President Obama to get over his snit about the overthrow of the Morsi Muslim brotherhood regime and start working with the Egyptians so that the US can resume its counter terrorism operations against al Qaeda.  The US should also be helping the Saudis and Egyptians deal with Iranian aggression which is the major cause of destabilization in the region.
