The other troops in his unit have been pretty insistent that Bergdahl left his unit and there was some radio traffic which also indicated he was looking to join with the Taliban. It makes the deal to free Taliban terrorist look even worse. Some will see it as confirmation of Obama's poor negotiating skills. Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl disappeared from his Army outpost in Afghanistan in 2009 and was held by the Taliban for five years. Officials say there is little desire to see him serve time.
