Gay "marriage"
San Fancisco is granting invalid marriage licenses to gays. It should be noted that any license is a privelege not a right. The privelege is always conditioned upon meeting certain requirements, be it for driving, selling securities or getting married. If the gays who are getting "married" were in court they would be challenging the constitutionality of the conditions for a license. Their problem in California is that the conditions were set by the people in a referendum. That is probably why they are not in court.
Am I the only person who noticed that gay "marriage" was not that big an issue before Congress repealed the marriage penalty? Most gay couples are the classic DINKS (dual income no kids). While there are some exceptions, the number of gay housholds where one partner stays home and plays house is still pretty rare I would guess. While there is some talk of gays looking for a benefit grab, in the typical dink situation, what is the point? My bet is on their desire to take advantage of the Republican tax cuts that liberals hate.
