Trump gets control of the border

The Trump administration has achieved significant milestones in border security, with a sharp decline in illegal immigration, marking a notable shift from previous years. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data highlights a record-breaking reduction in illegal crossings, alongside increased efforts to combat drug smuggling.
In June, nationwide illegal border crossings dropped to an all-time low, according to CBP. This decline is accompanied by historically low apprehension numbers, minimal parole releases, and a rise in drug seizures as authorities intensify efforts against illegal narcotics trafficking.
“From shutting down illegal crossings to seizing fentanyl and enforcing billions in tariffs, CBP is delivering results on every front,” CBP Commissioner Rodney Scott said in a public statement. “Under this administration, we are protecting this country with relentless focus, and the numbers prove it,” Scott continued.

Border Patrol apprehended only 8,024 individuals across the country, setting a new record for the lowest monthly apprehensions. On June 28, agents recorded just 136 arrests, the lowest single-day total in CBP history.
Along the U.S.-Mexico border, apprehensions totaled 6,072 in June, a 15% decrease from the previous record set in March, according to CBP data. In a stark contrast to prior years, Border Patrol released no illegal migrants into the U.S. in May, a trend that continued into June with zero parolees, as confirmed by CBP on Tuesday.
Under the Biden administration, however, Border Patrol released 62,000 migrants in May 2024 and 27,766 in June 2024 along the U.S.-Mexico border, according to CBP figures. The Trump administration has described these achievements as “the fastest improvement in American border security of all time.”

If you control the border, the migrant flow slows to a trickle. Trump has done a more effective job of controlling the body than any president in recent history. Biden opened the borders, and Trump is controlling the borders. That is true of not just the Mexican border, but also true of the Canadian border.
