The Israeli war with Hamas

President Donald Trump voiced strong support for Israel’s military campaign to dismantle Hamas in the Gaza Strip following the terrorist group’s rejection of a U.S.-backed cease-fire proposal. Speaking as he left the White House for a trip to Scotland, Trump remarked, “Hamas didn’t really want to make a deal. I think they want to die,” adding that Israel should “finish the job” with few hostages remaining after nearly two years of conflict.

The war was sparked by Hamas’ October 7, 2023, attack on southern Israel, which k*lled approximately 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and saw over 250 individuals, including U.S.-Israeli citizen Edan Alexander, taken hostage.

Alexander, a New Jersey native serving in the Israeli military, was freed in May through Trump’s diplomatic efforts.

The conflict has since claimed over 39,000 Palestinian lives, according to Gaza’s Hamas-run health ministry, and displaced much of its 2.3 million population, intensifying global scrutiny.

Hamas’ refusal to negotiate, citing Israel’s failure to guarantee a permanent cease-fire, has stalled peace efforts, prompting Trump to back Israel’s intensified operations to eliminate the group’s leadership and infrastructure.

Israel and the world are better off without the survival of Hamas.  It is a mass murdering terrorist organization more akin to the Nazis than to a civilized society.

Drones appear to be replacing jets for many operations.  The Russia-Ukraine war is an example of that.  Drones are often hard to detect and can be used for intelligence operations as well as for attacking enemy targets.  It would not surprise me to see drones engaging other drones in combat.  They also cost much less than manned fighters.

Apple's huge investment in US including Texas facility

Blaze: Apple announced a $500 billion commitment to infrastructure in the United States over four years, its largest commitment to domestic spending to date. Apple said it will expand teams and facilities in Arizona, California, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Texas, and Washington as part of its new spending. With a new facility in Houston, Texas, Apple will reportedly double its investment in advanced manufacturing along with increasing investments in AI and silicon engineering. The company said in a press release that the Houston facility will produce servers to support Apple Intelligence, the "personal intelligence system that helps users write, express themselves, and get things done." ... The Texas facility will be for advanced technologies.   Texas has become a place that is very supportive of the tech industries.  Austin and Houston have seen much of the tech growth in the state.  Texas universities have been active in the AI field.
