Polling shows voters reject Dems' open border policy
New polling has crushed Democrats' fantasy about their chances of regaining power through their public opposition to President Donald Trump's immigration policy.
According to Politico's Playbook on Thursday, there is more support from Democrats and Independents for Trump's actions to end the massive influx of illegal immigrants in our country than the party might have believed.
The polling suggests Trump's actions could bring in swing voters ahead of the 2026 midterms for the Republican Party.
The report read:
There was even greater Democratic (and independent) support for Trump's approach to immigration, suggesting opposition attacks on his controversial deportations are not widely resonating.
In total, 49 percent of voters approved of the administration's handling of immigration, vs. 33 percent who disapproved. Strikingly, a quarter of all Kamala Harris 2024 voters approved of the president's immigration policy. That's quite a number.
The poll also suggested that Trump can continue to make inroads with the Democratic voters on the economy.

This is an issue that the Democrat leadership deserves to lose on. The US has a right to control its borders and deport those in the country illegally, and Democrats deserve to lose votes on this issue. The Democrats would be better served if they supported immigration enforcement.

Democrats’ Defiance of Law and Order Fuels Chaos
The 2024 election delivered a clear message: Americans demand secure borders and robust law enforcement. Yet, Democrats seem deaf to this call, doubling down on policies that obstruct federal agencies like Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Former ICE acting director Jonathan Fahey, in a scathing critique, accused Democrats of learning nothing from their electoral losses and instead working tirelessly to undermine immigration enforcement.
“They’re doing everything they can to impede and obstruct any ICE enforcement,” Fahey said during an appearance on Tennessee GOP Sen. Marsha Blackburn’s “Unmuted” podcast, shared first with the Daily Caller News Foundation. His remarks highlight a growing frustration with Democrats’ apparent refusal to support basic law and order, choosing instead to disrupt federal efforts at every turn.
Fahey, who led ICE during the final days of Trump’s first term, pointed to the Democrats’ post-election behavior as evidence of their misguided priorities. “And it’s funny that you look at the last election and you think one of the lessons they could have learned was to moderate their open border position, but in fact, it seems like they doubled down on that open borders position,” he continued. This defiance, he argued, stems from a calculated political strategy rather than a commitment to public safety.
