Democrats continue to push open border policy

The 2024 election delivered a clear message: Americans demand secure borders and robust law enforcement. Yet, Democrats seem deaf to this call, doubling down on policies that obstruct federal agencies like Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Former ICE acting director Jonathan Fahey, in a scathing critique, accused Democrats of learning nothing from their electoral losses and instead working tirelessly to undermine immigration enforcement.
“They’re doing everything they can to impede and obstruct any ICE enforcement,” Fahey said during an appearance on Tennessee GOP Sen. Marsha Blackburn’s “Unmuted” podcast, shared first with the Daily Caller News Foundation. His remarks highlight a growing frustration with Democrats’ apparent refusal to support basic law and order, choosing instead to disrupt federal efforts at every turn.
Fahey, who led ICE during the final days of Trump’s first term, pointed to the Democrats’ post-election behavior as evidence of their misguided priorities. “And it’s funny that you look at the last election and you think one of the lessons they could have learned was to moderate their open border position, but in fact, it seems like they doubled down on that open borders position,” he continued. This defiance, he argued, stems from a calculated political strategy rather than a commitment to public safety.
The former ICE chief minced no words, accusing Democrats of “defaming law enforcement, which is almost like a standard practice of the Democratic Party, unfortunately.” This rhetoric, paired with actions like sanctuary laws and anti-ICE protests, paints a picture of a party more interested in political posturing than protecting communities. Fahey’s comments resonate with those who see Democrats’ obstruction as a direct threat to national security.
President Donald Trump’s return to office came with a mandate to address the border crisis through the largest deportation operation in U.S. history. His administration has made remarkable progress, with Customs and Border Protection reporting zero illegal migrants released into the country in May 2025, compared to 62,000 the previous year under Biden. ICE is also closing in on its goal of 3,000 daily arrests, currently averaging over 2,000.
Yet, Democrats have met these achievements with fierce resistance. Major cities under Democratic control, like Los Angeles and New York, have reinforced sanctuary policies, shielding criminal illegal migrants from federal authorities. Los Angeles, in particular, descended into chaos with anti-deportation riots costing over $20 million in damages, a stark testament to the consequences of Democratic inaction.

Many in the Democrat party want to continue to ignore US immigration laws and hope to import more illegals into the country and give them a vote. I suspect one of the reasons for this policy is that they now should know that the majority of American citizens do not support their policies, and that they want to import people who will support their nonsense. The Democrats want to change the demographics of the country in order to seize power.
