The Biden legacy of indifference

His most recent dereliction fits another pattern.

Just as he paid no attention to raging inflation, the open border and the decline of America’s global standing, Biden has gone missing as swarms of drones spark fears among millions of Americans on the East Coast.

Biden has said nothing, Vice President Kamala Harris has disappeared since losing the election and the White House offers only bland assurances that there’s nothing to worry about.

But asked who is behind the noisy, bright and large drone presence expanding night after night, the administration says it doesn’t know.

In other words, we don’t know and we don’t really care, but trust us anyway.

Sorry, it’s too late in the game for that, especially when drones forced the White Plains airport to close runways Friday night.

Only a fool would deny that something unprecedented is happening, and it’s doubly worrisome when the blanket assurances come from Alejandro Mayorkas, head of Homeland Security.

Recall it was Mayorkas who insisted repeatedly, under oath, that “the border is secure” even as more than 10 million unvetted migrants poured across.

So when he says “don’t worry,” we should worry.

The incident also illustrates why there is so much excitement about Donald Trump’s return.

Biden has checked out already.  The lights may be on, but nobody is home.  Harris never showed any leadership even before Biden checked out.  Trump's inauguration cannot come soon enough.

29 % of companies say they are unlikely to keep insurance after Obamacare

Conn Carroll: A new survey of 368 midsize to large companies found that 29% of them are considering terminating their active employee health care plans when Obamacare is full implemented in 2014. Only 71% of employers surveyed said they did not expect to drop their health coverage, while 20% said they did not know and 9% said they were planning to exit. The latest survey, conducted by Towers Watson, echoes an ealier survey by McKinsey & Co. finding that 30% of private-sector employers were planning to drop their employee health insurance coverage by 2014. When the Congressional Budget Office crunched Obamacare's spending numbers, they estimated that only 7% of employees currently covered by employer-sponsored plans would lose their plans. ... Drones appear to be replacing jets for many operations.  The Russia-Ukraine war is an example of that.  Drones are often hard to detect and can be used for intelligence operations as well as for attacking enemy targets.  It would not surprise me to see drones engaging other drones in combat.  They also cost much less than manned fighters.
